Have you heard about this legendary South Florida bass fishing guide…
Read This Before You Hire
A South Florida Bass Fishing Guide
“Give Me Just One Hour And I’ll Show You How To Catch TROPHY Bass…”
There are a lot of fishing stories out there.
Just about all of them are exaggerated just a little bit.
Many are complete bologna.
This one is NOT
It is not only incredible… it is 100% true and verifiable.
And most importantly… It changed my life… and it might change yours.
And if you are thinking about hiring a South Florida bass fishing guide… especially in the Florida everglades… and want to learn how to catch TROPHY bass… this might be the most important information you ever discover.
Here is why…
My name is Matt Welch. I grew up in New Jersey and fell in love with bass fishing at a young age. I remember the first time my father took me – we didn’t catch much… but I was HOOKED!
The problem was – New Jersey is not the best place in the world for bass fishing, we lived far from any lakes… and I really didn’t know how to fish.
Oh… I thought I did. I watched all the bass fishing shows. Bought the lures they said to – and tried to do all the techniques.
And I Dreamed Of
Catching A 10lbs Bass
After years and years of fishing – it never happened. Not even close. A 5 pounder was rare.
But then I made the big move.
I had an opportunity to move to Boca Raton, Florida… and I jumped on it. Great weather… and arguably the big bass fishing capital of the world!
I Knew I Would Catch
My 10-Pounder Now!
As soon as I got to Florida, I searched the internet for an everglades bass fishing guide.
And I was so excited at what I saw…
I was only 45 minutes from the south Florida everglades… and everglades bass fishing guides were saying on their websites how they were, “catching 100 fish a day!!!”
And posting, “We got huge bass today… again!”
The fishing reports and claims were incredible.
So… I hired one of these everglades bass fishing guides.
I called him up and told him I wasn’t interested in catching a bunch of small fish… I wanted to go after BIG bass… it was my life long dream to catch a 10-pounder.
He said he could do that. So we arraigned a day.
The night before our fishing trip – he called me and told me he couldn’t make it. But he had someone, “just as good.” I was all excited and ready to go – so I agreed.
The next day I found out it was this “guides” first trip. He was on the phone all day talking to other everglades bass fishing guides trying to find out where to go.
It Was Like The Blind
Leading The Blind!
He was a really nice guy – but not what I paid $450 of my hard earned money for.
I hired several south Florida everglades bass fishing guides after that who all had slick websites with big claims.
And every time I heard the same thing, “Man I don’t know what is going on… we killed ‘em yesterday… you just missed it by a day!”
I bet if you’ve ever gone out with a bass fishing guide… you’ve heard that, too.
But then everything was about to change…
How I Met
“The King Of The Everglades”
If you are into bass fishing, I’m sure you’ve heard of Doug Hannon.
If you haven’t, he’s known as the “bass professor” and has written a couple books and had his own television show.
He has probably caught more bass over 10 pounds than anyone in the world.
Anyway, he came out with a new lure – and I bought it.
And I caught some really nice bass on it. I email him pictures and he put a couple up on his website.
He seemed like a really nice guy, and I asked him if he knew a south Florida Everglades bass fishing guide I should go fishing with.
He gave me a guys name… I called him… and booked a trip.
Then… once again… the night before the trip… he called and said he couldn’t do it. And said, “But I have a guy who’s even better than me!”
Yeah, right. Like this was my first rodeo.
But I wanted to go fishing – so I agreed.
The everglades bass guides name was John Pate. Even though I am 42 years old, I call him Mr. Pate.. you’ll find out why in just a moment.
Anyway, I showed up at Mr. Pate’s house at 6:30am.
We took off – and ran into a major accident on rt 95. We were stuck for hours. We never made it to the spot Mr. Pate wanted to take me to – and we ended up going to another spot for peacock bass.
We didn’t start fishing until after 12:00 and I had to leave at 4:00. We caught several peacocks in the 3-5lbs range. If you have never caught a peacock bass… 3-5lbs peacocks fight like little demons!
Here’s Where The Story
Get’s Really Good…
A couple days later I got a call from Mr. Pate. He said, “What are you doing tonight around 6:00?”
“Nothing.”
“Then be at my house at 6:00… I feel bad about the other day and I’m going to take you to catch some really big fish… and it’s on me”
That’s When I Found Out Why They Call Him
The King Of The Everglades…
Mr. Pate took me somewhere deep in the Everglades.
He wasn’t like these other guys who had been fishing for a few years and bought a fancy boat and were all of a sudden a “guide.”
Mr. Pate was the REAL DEAL.
He had been bass fishing, guiding and winning tournaments in the south Florida Everglades for over 35 years. He knows the best, secret fishing spots like you know the back of your hand.
After a very cool and beautiful boat ride through the Everglades trails, he stopped the boat, turned to me and said, “You are not just going to catch bass tonight… I’m going to teach you how to catch bass… BIG BASS.”
Mr. Pate sat me down, pulled out a pole and showed me the special knot he uses. It’s tiny… but won’t break.
He told me what pole and line to use and why.
Then he pulled out a bag of his secret weapons – his homemade lures. Baits he had tested and perfected over 35 years fishing those waters.
He rigged me up and then taught me how to cast. I thought I knew… boy was I wrong. In no time, with his simple techniques, I was putting the lures right where I wanted them.
And in no time…
All Hell Broke Lose
Mr. Pate picked up his pole and fished right along side me… so I could see how it was done. And almost immediately… BAM!… a big bass slammed Mr. Pate’s homemade surface lure.
I can still see that big bass coming completely out of the water to inhale Mr. Pate’s lure.
He held up the 5 pound largemouth bass… looked and me and said, “This is just the beginning.”
And it was.
Both of us got slammed by big everglades bass… over and over… for hours.
I don’t know the final count for sure – but we easily caught 25 bass between 5 and 9lbs.
I can’t tell you how many MONSTERS I lost!
Mr. Pate would tell me why I lost it each time!
I didn’t get my 10-pounder… but I had never experienced anything even close to what happened that night!
But here’s the most important thing about all this…
Mr. Pate didn’t just take me fishing
HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO FISH
Since that night, I’ve gone fishing with Mr. Pate countless times. And every time I go… he teaches me another secret.
How to find fish – and how to catch them.
Fishing in the south Florida everglades with Mr. Pate versus another “guide” is like learning karate from a weekend warrior or Bruce Lee.
And one of the best things about Mr. Pate is he gives it to you straight.
Listen – that night I had with Mr. Pate does not always happen. There are good days and bad days. And Mr. Pate will tell you that.
He will not give you a line of crap just to get your money when he knows the fish aren’t biting.
Many times I have heard him tell people he would not take them and their money because the conditions were not right and the fish were not biting.
I’ve never heard another guide say that.
Clearly, if you want to not only catch big bass – but learn how to catch big bass in the Florida Everglades… in my humble opinion… no one is better than Mr. Pate.
The only problem with Mr. Pate is he’s extremely busy. He has never advertised a day in his life – and he is usually booked solid just from word of mouth.
People fly from all over the world to fish with him.
And he turns down clients that are a pain in the butt. He only wants people who are positive and want to have fun.
He actually gave me a hard time about putting up this website because he’s a very humble man… but I owed it to him for all he has taught me and all the amazing times I’ve had fishing with him and I thought the rest of the world should know about him and have the opportunity I had.
For those reasons, if you would like to not only go fishing in the Florida Everglades… but learn how to catch MONSTER bass from the best… you should give Mr. Pate a call right now and book a trip.
His personal cell phone number is 954-325-5310.
He is a, “one man band.” He is NOT a big company. He will answer his cell phone and you will get to talk to him. If it goes to voice mail – he is out catching big bass with someone – hopefully me!
But like I’ve already said – he is usually booked solid.
And now that’s I’ve put this on the internet, I’m sure he will get more clients than he can handle.
For that reason, if you would like to get in on the bass fishing opportunity of your lifetime – call right now.
If you love bass fishing – you will completely understand this…
Going out in the beautiful Everglades, learning fishing secrets from a master… and… catching the bass of your lifetime is a dream come true.
The Memories I Have
Will Last Forever
There is a story about an old man on his deathbed talking to his grandson. The grandson asks his grandfather if there is anything he did in his life he regrets.
The wise, old grandfather says, “There is nothing in my life I did that I regret – the only things I regret are the things I didn’t do. I should have spent less time working and more time with my family and doing the things I loved. I should have had more fun and lived out my dreams.”
That’s why I call Mr. Pate and go fishing all the time – to live out my dreams and not have those regrets.
Give him a call – you won’t regret it. I’ve never heard of someone looking back on their life and regretting the times they went fishing!
His personal cell phone number is 954-325-5310.
